Often times we hear that it's good to be independent. Relying on others can lead to problems, and often those problems lead to blame and the blame leads to future conflict. It just becomes a mess. To an extent, that's true. We should be self-reliant, self-responsible, self-motivated, but not self-ish...Hmmmm What's the difference?
God did not create man to walk alone. After Adam, He created Eve, and "saw that it was good." When God saw that we needed Him, He sent the Holy Spirit through Jesus. We are made to depend on Him. So sure, it can be good to be able to stand alone, but it can be better if we stand with God.
