March 28-29: Judgment

"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10

I had a baby this weekend. Not a real baby, but one of those electronic ones for school. I had to take it with me everywhere, even on my trip to Chattanooga with the children's choir. My limitation: judgment. The stares and whispers I got from people thinking I was a teen mom or a girl who never grew up made me want to whisper back "it's a fake," but at the same time it was amusing.

This evening, I was at youth group, in church, in a sanctuary, and my concern for judgment was at a minimum. I was not afraid to carry the baby around or to jump and dance in worship. So who am I trying to please, at church, God? and in the world, people? That's not the way it works.

Living life like I do for the 2 hours each evening at youth group will make life exciting and purposeful. How far will you go before the judgment of those around you stops you?
