Just another piece of evidence of how simple yet how significant encouragement can be: today, I was riding my bike. I'd been about 9 exhausting miles, and I was peddling my way up a hill at the top of which waited about 20 middle schoolers for the bus. As I got closer, I heard one do a little cheer. You know how middle schoolers are--one does something, and they all follow. So pretty soon I had 20 middle schoolers cheering me on up the hill. That gave me just the boost I needed to make it to the peak.
While I was physically climbing a hill, some people may be figuratively struggling to climb a hill, maybe even a mountain. All they need is a boost of encouragement, and we can be the ones to give it to them.
