There are these two 4-year-olds at preschool camp who are determined to be friends forever, meaning they won't leave each others' sides, and they plan playdates every day. Their enthusiasm to love each other and to see each other is similar to the enthusiasm God has to love us and see us.
There is one 3-year-old, however, who repeatedly reports to me that two of the other girls won't let her play with them. And sure enough, she goes up to them, and they flat out say, "we don't want to play with you." Sometimes, this is our reaction to God's passionate love for us.
It seems to me that being a 4-year-old is much more appealing.
