God promises many times in the Old Testament to make "your descendants as numerous as the stars." He could've said as numerous as sand, or water, or grass, but He chose stars. In the same way, we are all called to share our light, to not "cover our lamps". Light is the most apparent in darkness or when it's away from other light. So, we might find ourselves in darkness, among evil and sin, away from other disciples, but that is our opportunity to shine so others notice the difference! We are as numerous as the stars. We are the stars. We are little specks of light that never fail to penetrate the darkness.
