January 14: A Story

My day began and ended with interpreting writing. In AP Lang, we discussed interpreting poems, and during children's choir tonight, we discussed interpreting parables. So much meaning can be conveyed in a story or in a poem. When we relate a complex idea to something simplistic, we make it available to a larger diversity of people. Jesus used stories, parables,  to teach lessons, and they are still effective as methods of teaching today. Tonight, one child easily grasped the meaning of one of Jesus's parables and also translated it into a more relatable story for the younger children. Though we might not be writing and sharing parables, each of our stories, each of our lives, is also effective in conveying a lesson. What lesson are you living?
