September 19: Appreciation

At a volunteer project today, I spent some time with several women and children who are living in a homeless shelter. It was a good experience. Nearly everyone I spoke to was positive about their situation and grateful for the sustenance that the Lord has provided them. I am inspired by how grateful they are for the little they have and the experiences they've had. One boy in particular left me speechless as he prayed for everyone, thanking God abundantly for all he'd been given and then asking God to watch over us, the ones who had homes and families and stuff in excess, rather than over himself and his family. We all need to be appreciative--God has blessed us with so much.
