January 6: Excited Anticipation

Yesterday was a day filled with the anticipation of snow, and boy! everyone knew about it, everyone talked about it, everyone acted on it. The stores were cleared out (in fact, I heard today that our local Kroger sold more yesterday than they did for Christmas), the roads were empty, cars were parked at the tops of driveways, gravel and salt were on the roads. We were ready and excited.

We did all this for the chance of frozen water falling from the sky.

And yet, what do we do when there's a 100% chance of salvation through Jesus, of one day seeing God's face, of being able to serve Him daily, and of the possibility of His return to this Earth during our lifetime? We continue on with our normal lives.

Where's our excitement? Our anticipation? Why don't we spend our lives talking about our saving grace, designing our lives to mold to God's will, and preparing our hearts to meet Jesus?
