July 2: Colossians

I've been reading into Colossians this week, and I'm inspired through the clarity and passion in Paul's words. I've always liked Paul's letters because they're the parts of the bible that feel like they're directed right at me; they're easy to understand and applicable to life. Though many of the verses emphasize the importance of living in God and for God, one verse really captures that, Colossians 3:17 reads, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." And that about sums it up, our purpose in life; the hard part is actually doing it, but I have faith that with this verse in mind, all things are possible.
